Dalyan in the Province of Mugla on the south- western coast of the Mediterranean is 30 km from the International airport of Dalaman.
Dalyan is established in an environmentally protected area. This is one of the few surviving places of paradise, an area of natural beauty and historical interest. The ancient city of Caunos lies here with its ruins dating back to the 3rd Century.
The Dalyan channel through which water circulates between the Mediterranean and Köycegiz Lake winds its way down past the ancient Rock Tombs of Caunos to the sea, via a small network of lakes and waterways.
Dividing the delta is the Iztuzu sandbar stretching for 5 km east from the south of the Dalyan channel.
With fine crystal sand, shallow turquoise sea Iztuzu beach is the ideal seaside spot. Which can be reached by regular Dolmus or boat service from Dalyan.
This is also the beach where the endangered Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta Caretta) and the green turtle (Chelonia Mydas) have returned to lay their eggs since the beginning of time. The nesting time being from May till October in Dalyan, iztuzu beach.
Twelve years ago Dalyan was a small fishing village, the discovery of the endangered Loggerhead Turtles and the wildlife in this area led to a campaign to designate the area for conservation. Dalyan has therefore retained its natural charm and beauty.
Dalyan is a haven for relaxation that has blossomed to cater for the serious traveller. There are many restaurants in which to try local Turkish cuisine, music bars and shops. There are a couple of discos on the outskirts of Dalyan so as not to disturb those of you that wish to retire early.

Microlight Flights

Boat Tours
Since Dalyan is a fishing village built on a canal coast, primary transports here are boats and we own a boat for special and scheduled tours. Captain Ali is a well-known and skillful sailor in Dalyan. On a boat tour commanding by him, you can head for mud baths and hotsprings along Dalyan Canal or, alternatively, you can join Köycegiz tours we arrange every Monday and enjoy shopping at Köycegiz market. If you choose the latter, during the dreamy journey along Dalyan canal, you could get a chance to see hook-nosed Nile turtles.

We strongly advice you to join tours to Ekincik Bay as well. We start off Dalyan Canal and reach to the sea at Iztuzu Beach crossing the delta. Along the way of Ekincik, you can dive with snorkel in the cleanest bays of the world, meet fantastic nature of under-sea-world and also beautiful fishes and other creatures you have never seen before. When you reach Ekincik Bay, Captain Ali will surprise you with his special course of meal; BBQ. While you are having good time swimming or going on a short hike in natural charms surrounding the bay, the captain will make your lunch ready; BBQ with chilly drinks! After lunch, having a nice trip on cool, blue waters of Meditarennian Sea, you go back to the hotel crossing Dalyan Delta and Canal again.

Rafting
Just 45 minutes away from Dalyan is a village called Akkopru. This village is situated in the wilds of Turkey on the Dalaman river, being the best river for white water rafting in Southern Turkey . The river flows all year round, being at its most challenging in the spring time, and consists of rapid, then pool, rapid, then pool and so on; the rapids being of grades 3 and 4; the pools allowing plenty of time to relax, swim, and having a stop for eating a special lunch.
